tour1002 visitor experience redesign – the presentation and design of the experien
The presentation and design of the experience should apply visitor experience concepts. There will cover lecture materials from topics 8 (experience redesign #2), 9 (experiencescapes), 10 (visitor interpretation & management), and 11 (post experience outcomes). At a minimum, Pearce’s (2001) orchestra model of a tourism experience should be applied as this guides the other phases of the research. You also need to include two diagrams (e.g. maps)- one of the current experience and one of how it is changed through your redesign. Sections of the report will follow the core concepts covered in the course and should contain the sections outlined below. The report should be succinct and focused- all sections link together so please treat it as an overall piece of work rather than fragmented elements. Note: Some elements of the lecture materials from weeks 8 to 11 will be more relevant to you than others. For example, if you perceive that the interpretation and visitor management for your visitor experience is appropriate, you can mention this and focus on slightly lower word emphasis on the word count here. Alternatively, if this is the main problem with your current experience you are able to focus on this- just ensure that all areas are covered and link together. Note: If there are diagrams, maps or figures available of your current experience, it is wise to include this in your report. This will help visualise your current experience. However, if there are no current options available, it is best to design the current experience design on a computer package. You do not need to explain the whole experience here. Importantly, for the first diagram (whether it is currently available or not), just outline what needs to be changed. For your second diagram (e.g. map), you need to focus on the specific area of your experience that will be redesigned. You don’t need to focus on changing the whole experience design.
