Task:

The task is an opportunity for students to examine their values and develop statements of personal purpose and leadership vision.
Task: The second assignment requires you to write a personal leadership plan or blueprint for action. 
You should structure your assignment using the following sub-headings and approximate word counts:
This section requires you to write a statement that captures your leadership purpose and motivation
Example of purpose – “My purpose is to help my team members to be more than they thought they could be and be comfortable in making and learning from their mistakes.”
Desired leadership style
This section of the essay requires you to identify your desired leadership style and demonstrate your understanding of leadership as anacademic theory by researching and reporting on your desired 
leadership style (including associated characteristics, advantages, disadvantages and applicability
particularly in the Australian context). 
This section should draw on three scholarly peer-reviewed articles published in academic journals which relate to your desired leadership style. You should then analyse and synthesise the content to put forward what you have learned about the style. The following questions should guide your analysis & synthesis: What question is the author(s) trying to answer in their research? What did they find? How are their findings interesting and relevant to your assigned topic? What new insights does the article offer?
Identification of strengths and growth-areas (including knowledge base/skills base) & setting your leadership vision.
This section of the essay requires you to articulate your leadership vision and undertake an initial selfassessment using any one of the three tools covered in the Week 6 lecture.
This section should include a discussion of your vision and its relevance to helping professions as well as a short summary of the self-assessment. You must also provide an evidence-based discussion of how the strengths and growth areas are relevant to your Purpose Statement, Desired leadership style and your Leadership Vision.
