Van Edward’s talk? Explain “hits of excitement.” Do you accept the
challenge?
ANSWER 1:
Vanessa Van Edwards exposes the secret ingredient of being positive ,ways to
impact others with it,and the entire revelation was done is apositive approach .Mentioning
multiple instances of the ways in which individuals react to facial expressions ,all our non-
verbal expressions along with the tone of the voice ,Vanessa Van Edwards impeccably
conveys the audience that the importance of all these is as much as what we convey through
our verbal thoughts. The ways to become more contagious and memorable in other people ’s
life has been skillfully narrated by the speaker.
Hit of Excitement is the way in which individuals can spark the notion of positivity ,
to be specific dopamine ,while starting aconversation with them (Edwards, 2022). It has also
been found that dopamine when triggered in verbal conversation ,makes a mental post-it
note .This makes the person significantly more memorable to the other person. Yes, Ido
accept the challenge and will implement all the positive conversation starters that has been

circumstances are you most likely to experience eustress? Under what
circumstances are you most likely to experience distress? Do individual
personalities play a role in how people experience stress? Support your
answer.
ANSWER 2:
The factors that contribute to my level of stress at work are lack of autonomy ,long
hours ,and job insecurity .It has been identified that, stress could be identified as the
response that significantly takes place when an individual observes asituation as threating in
relevance to his or her well-being or during the time when there resources have been
exceeded. Moreover, it has also been identified that 60% illness are generally caused by
stress .Also, there are two main types of stressors which are hindrance and challenge
(lecture notes). On the other hand, Ihave faced eustress when changes take place in the
organization .Even if Iget worried in the first place, later it helps me in my career growth
process .
Adding to that, there are certain circumstances under which Iget stressed only when
my job security gets questioned. Surely, individual personalities do play asignificant role in
which the individual experience stress .Ihave been an introvert and sudden changes in
workplace tend to make me significantly worried and therefore Iget stressed.

QUESTION 3
Review the motivational theories in Chapter 5. Explain the difference
between content and process theories. What specific theory of motivation
do you find the most applicable? Why? Be specific, for example, equity
theory. What theory of motivation do you find the least applicable? Why?
How can knowing this information help you lead others?
ANSWER 3:
The primary difference between the process theory and the content theory is that the
content theory tends to highlight on the explanations for changing the human needs
frequently while process theory emphases on the psychological processes that significantly
impact the notion of motivation .This again connects to that of the goals ,expectations ,and
perceptions of equity .The specific theory of motivation that I significantly find most
applicable is Maslow’s Need Hierarchy Theory .Depending on the clinical experience, it
could be classified that all the relevant human needs in relevance to the hierarchical
manner from that of the lower order to that of the higher order (Velmurugan & Sankar, 2017).
Therefore, this is the reason Ifind this theory of motivation to be most applicable. As a
matter of fact, the theory of motivation that could be realized is Acquired-Needs Theory .
Understanding of the motivational theories ,will help me to understand the driving factors
of different individuals and will help me to lead teams and individuals successfully.
QUESTION 4
4 MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR
What type of performance reviews have you experienced. Was it effective?
Why or Why not? Do you agree with Patty’s thoughts on performance
reviews. If you were in charge of creating the performance review process
what would you do? Be specific, would you have them, if so how often, also
how would you measure performance?
ANSWER 4:
The type of performance review that Ihave experienced is continuous performance
conversations .This particular performance review system helps in addressing what is
happening in the current moment . Ihave realized this is an effective way of reviewing
performance since alterations could be made based on the current feedback .However, I
agree with Patty McCord ,as Ibelieve that the employees should be given certain space and
freedom and this will make them significantly more responsible towards the ultimate goal of
the organization (McCord, 2022). If Iwere in charge of creating the performance review
process ,Iwould surely make performance review a daily task for the managers through
small conversations with the employees. This will not only make the entire team
significantly more aligned toward the organizational goal ,but also at the same time will help
in creating ahealthy professional relationship between the employees and the organization .
